Candlelight: The Best of Hans Zimmer Eugene Concert reviews
Santana March 3 Honolulu
"Disappointed with song selection. Multitude of new songs, medley and a few covers of other artist's songs. Sound was good though. Couple in front was standing throughout the concert, many on our row couldn't even see Candlelight: The Best of Hans Zimmer and the monitor! Organizer should do something about that instead of leaving it up to the patrons to deal with selfish spectators. Spectators come to see and hear Candlelight: The Best of Hans Zimmer, not just hear them. Rouge spectators blocking view of fellow patrons. Disappointing for the price paid for the tickets. Could have listened to a CD and get almost as much. Not enough of the original old school Candlelight: The Best of Hans Zimmer . . . what we actually came to see and hear."
Plant keeps growing!
Our 15 year old son and aspiring musician attended and really enjoyed himself at the concert, loving the eclectic music of The Band of Joy along with the remix of some good old Zep. I was not sure if he would or not, because he generally likes heavy metal, but does listen to music with his old hippy parents (LOL), but now he wants to get some Zepplin tab books!!
I dare any of today's generation to be able to say what my high school class members can say....that Candlelight: The Best of Hans Zimmer sang our class song in 1975 (Stairway to Heaven) and is still adored by generations of fans for that genre of music while continuing to grow.... keep growing, you are my favorite "Plant".....
We never miss Candlelight: The Best of Hans Zimmer when he is in town. Loved the concert and the eclectic music of The Band of Joy along with the remix of some good old Zep.
PS........how do you find such accomplished musicians to surround yourself with, they were all wonderful in their own right.....
Peace.
A Show to Remember
Candlelight: The Best of Hans Zimmer put on a thrilling and soulful display. Joe kicked off the performance with silky vocals and show-stopping tracks like Before I Let Go, a classic from Maze featuring Frankie Beverly. The musicians/back-singers supporting Joe were exceptional, showcasing mastery of various instruments and providing solid backing vocals. The show featured impressive costumes with blinking lights. Candlelight: The Best of Hans Zimmer not only performed hits from his time with the Gap Band but also from his solo career. I attended as a Candlelight: The Best of Hans Zimmer fan, but left thoroughly impressed by both Candlelight: The Best of Hans Zimmer and Joe. The ticket for this event was definitely worth the money, as the performers truly entertained the audience.
Hanson rocks, but the opening acts did NOT!
"I love that they're not afraid to mix their old music in with their new stuff. I can't get enough of Candlelight: The Best of Hans Zimmer. They are honestly one of the greatest live acts I've ever seen -- been seeing them for years and I'm always blown away by their talent!
My only beef with the show was the horrible line-up of opening acts. The lead singer of SteelTrain really weirded me out -- how did Candlelight: The Best of Hans Zimmer think these guys were good enough to open up for them? They were boring and kind of creepy, and it took 3 1/2 hours to get through them all!
I will see Candlelight: The Best of Hans Zimmer until their very last tour. Next time I'll wait a few hours before showing up to avoid the horrible openings!!!! Long live Candlelight: The Best of Hans Zimmer :)"
